Port of Everett’s First Annual Sail-In Cinema Outdoor Movie Series to Kick-off July 15

Everett, Wash. – Summer Friday nights at the Port of Everett Marina just got better. Beginning July 15, the Port of Everett will kick-off its first-ever Sail-in Cinema -- a free, family-friendly outdoor movies series taking place at the Port’s new Boxcar Park, July 15 – August 18.

The Port of Everett’s Sail-in Cinema is sponsored in part by Dwayne Lane’s Ram Truck Center and the City of Everett’s Lodging Tax Fund. The Port has teamed up with various community partners to offer family-oriented, movie-themed activities in the park prior to each movie beginning at 7 p.m.

Sail-in Cinema guests will enjoy free admission to watch movies in the park or by boat in the available guest viewing slips at the Port’s adjacent North Docks. Show times vary each Friday night based on sunset to provide the best viewing experience.

Here is the Port of Everett’s 2016 Sail-in Cinema movie line-up:                 

  • July 15:      Guardians of the Galaxy, 9:30 p.m.
  • Grab a photo with Guardians of the Galaxy character Gamora, enjoy face painting, washable tattoos and balloon animals, Everett Astronomical Societyand Everett Community College Astronomy students will be on-site with telescopes for “galaxy” viewing and other activities.

  • July 22:      The Sandlot, 9:25 p.m.
  • Everett AquaSoxnight: get a picture with team mascot Webbly, try out your pitching skills, jump around in a bounce house and more!
                                  
  • July 29:      Miracle, 9:15 p.m.
  • Everett Silvertipsnight: meet Lincoln the team mascot, try out your puck and stick handling skills, climb aboard the Fanboni and more!
                                                             
  • Aug. 5:       Star Wars: The force Awakens, 9:00 p.m.
  • Aug. 12:     Finding Nemo, 8:50 p.m.
  • Aug. 19:     Top Gun, 8:35 p.m.
  • Military Appreciation Night: join Naval Station EverettCommanding Officer in a salute to our current and retired military. First 150 guests will receive a promotional item.

The Port will provide free, fresh popped popcorn while supplies last and a variety of paid food vendors will be on-site ranging from hot dogs and shaved ice to Dim Sum and Mexican eats. A waterfront 21+ beverage garden hosted by, and in benefit of, Housing Hope will also be available featuring Bluewater Distilling and Scuttlebutt Brewing Company spirits, beer and wine.

Guest Information:
Whether watching by land or boat, be sure to pack blankets. Summer nights on the water can get a bit chilly. If viewing by land, feel free to bring low-back chairs. If viewing by boat, guest moorage is available at North Guest Docks 6 and 7 on a first come, first served basis. Boaters can access movie audio via a local radio frequency that will be made available at the beginning of each movie. Inclement Weather:
In the event of rain or extreme weather, the movie and park activities will be cancelled. Cancellations will be posted on the Port’s websiteFacebook and Twitter.
