New Asian-Inspired Fisherman Jack's Restaurant Coming to Fisherman's Harbor at the Port of Everett's Waterfront Place
The Port of Everett has secured a long-term lease with China City, LLC to bring Fisherman Jack’s to the waterfront. This is the final lease the Port needed to ink before going out to bid for the new restaurant building in Fisherman’s Harbor next to the Pacific Rim Plaza and Splash Fountain in the Port’s 65-acre mixed-use development.
The new Asian-inspired restaurant will offer a fun, vibrant and family-friendly dining experience with a full-service bar and outdoor patio dining area. It will feature Chinese cuisine with regional seafood in Dim Sum and noodle dishes.
"We are looking forward to this great partnership with the Port of Everett,” said Jack Ng, Owner of China City LLC, which owns and operates several popular restaurants in the Oak Harbor, Freeland and Mill Creek areas.
“We are excited to bring an Asian inspired seafood option to the waterfront – not only to bring diversity and more enrichment to the community, but, also, to be part of this opportunity for economic growth that the waterfront revitalization is creating for Everett,” Ng said.
The lease secures approximately 3,800 interior square feet (sf) and surrounding exterior patios at the north end of parcel A-8 in Fisherman’s Harbor. The Port will construct a new, more than 5,000 sf, two-tenant retail building at the site with Fisherman Jack’s to occupy about 2/3 of the building, and the balance to house the new South Fork Bakery announced last summer.
This key location is adjacent to the new 142-room Hotel Indigo that opened in late-2019, and the new 266-unit Waterfront Place Apartments, which celebrated the grand opening of the first of two residential towers earlier this week. The location provides direct pedestrian access via the City’s new Grand Avenue Park bridge, is adjacent to the Port’s new Pacific Rim Plaza and Splash Fountain and sits right above the Port’s newest yacht-class Guest Dock 5.
The Port has two buildings with up to four tenant spaces left to fill along the waterfront in Fisherman’s Harbor.
“This is an exciting milestone for the Port and community as it brings a new flavor to the restaurant scene here at Waterfront Place,” Port Commissioner Glen Bachman said. “It also marks the fifth and final tenant deal needed to move the Port from design to construction on two new retail pads at Fisherman’s Harbor, bringing the vision for this district closer to fruition.”
A-17 is the second parcel that will move into construction along with A-8, located to the west of Hotel Indigo. This building is also fully committed and will support three new office leases with Bellingham Yachts, Freedom Boat Club and Waterline Boats, as well as provide public restrooms and an open space for site visitors.
Both buildings are being designed by architectural firm Cushing Terrell, in coordination with Waterfront Place engineering firm PND Engineers. The building designs feature a timber-theme concept that pay homage to the site’s historic mill town roots.

About Fisherman Jack’s
Jack Ng's first job out of high school was to work on fishing boats that traveled up the Western North American coast to fish in Dutch Harbor of the Bering Sea off Alaska. There, he learned the hard work that is put into the seafood trade and gained an incredible work ethic. Putting this work ethic to good use, Ng and his family worked together to start the successful restaurant business, China City. This restaurant, that started in 1999 in the Whidbey Island town of Oak Harbor, has grown to three locations under the same name.

The idea for the name came from the location of the new restaurant in Fisherman Harbor. In combination with Jack's own experience as a fisherman himself, the name created itself – Fisherman Jack's.
About Waterfront Place
The Port of Everett’s Waterfront Place is a new 1.5 million square foot mixed-use development located on 65-acres at the waterfront near the downtown core in Everett, Washington. The development boasts spectacular views, waterfront access, recreational amenities and a world class marina – that largest public Marina on the West Coast – with 2,300 slips and 5,000 linear feet of guest moorage.
