The Port of Everett and its private development partner The Schuster Group are excited to unveil the vision for new destination retail and new connected park and public spaces coming soon to Marina Village at Waterfront Place.

Covington Cellars | Two Vintners has signed on as the first tenant for the area – dubbed the “Wine Walk” – to feature its wines at a tasting suite in one of three new buildings to be built between Port Gardner Landing and Marina Village.

The Wine Walk includes up to eight tasting suites, and all buildings will feature expansive outdoor patios, rooftop decks and connected piazzas.

Covington Cellars | Two Vintners, which has tasting rooms in Woodinville and Maltby, will be located in the western-most building of the Wine Walk, near the new Everett Yacht Club building opening later this summer and Anthony’s Woodfire Grill.

The winery sources its wines from Walla Walla, Yakima Valley, Horse Heaven Hills, Wahluke Slope and Red Mountain, and plans to host live music, private events and wine and food pairing classes at this new space.

“We are absolutely thrilled that our newest tasting room will be at Waterfront Place,” Cindy Lawson said. “This spectacular venue with outdoor seating and a rooftop deck is going to be the perfect place for friends to gather and unwind as they take in the views and sip some amazing Washington wine. We’re looking forward to making new friends and sharing our passion with the community.”

Owners David and Cindy Lawson moved Covington Cellars to Woodinville’s Artisan Hill District in 2005. Theirs was the 19th established winery in Woodinville after the Lawsons founded it in Covington in 2002. The Two Vintners brand was added in 2009, with a focus on Syrah and Merlot. The wineries outgrew their space in Woodinville and moved production to The Vault at Maltby in 2020.

“We are excited to welcome Covington Cellars | Two Vintners to the Wine Walk, and to share our plans to activate and connect the South Marina to all the mixed-use development underway at Fisherman’s Harbor,” Port of Everett CEO Lisa Lefeber said. “The vision for Waterfront Place is to unify our Marina and upland developments. We’re creating a unique destination for locals, our valued boating community and visitors from all around. Adding a cluster of new restaurants and tasting room experiences are just some of many pieces in motion.”

Port development partner The Schuster Group will be constructing the buildings and the Port will be creating and maintaining the open spaces. Tasting rooms, including the Covington Cellars | Two Vintners suite, are expected to open in late 2024.

The Wine Walk has been designed in a way that will enhance South Marina upland amenities, while creating connection between the new destination retail and restaurants underway at nearby Fisherman’s Harbor.

Fisherman’s Harbor has four new buildings either under construction now or in planning to feature the recently announced Rustic Cork Wine Bar, the new Asian-inspired Fisherman’s Jack’s restaurantSouth Fork Bakery and Lazy Boy Brewing. The area also includes destination retail, such as the new Anisoptera Spa announced this week.

The balance of space available is targeting up to two more restaurants, a year-round fish market, a specialty ice cream shop and a fitness studio.

About Covington Cellars | Two Vintners

Covington Cellars and Two Vintners are sister wineries owned and operated by David and Cindy Lawson. Winemaker Morgan Lee has been crafting the wines for both brands since joining David and Cindy in 2007. Morgan was named Head Winemaker in 2010 and since then has continuously been recognized as a formidable winemaker – first by being named Winemaker to Watch by Seattle magazine, and then with the designation as a Top 100 Wine of the Year TWICE, first by Wine Enthusiast and most recently in 2021 by Jeb Dunnuck. Partnering with 13 vineyards across the state, from Walla Walla to Red Mountain, allows them to make wines that exude both power and elegance. Their flagship varietals are Syrah and Cabernet Franc, but you’ll also find the unexpected here too – such as Grenache, Grenache Blanc and even an Orange wine.
